If you’ve picked up a glossy this month, you can’t possibly have missed the new Chanel spring/summer print campaign. Models Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls ooze sophisticated glamour as they climb & balance in thousands of pounds of Chanel finery.

Lagerfeld specialises in timeless glamour, and this season he seems to have excelled himself. What’s that? You’d like a sneaky, behind the scenes peek at how the campaign was made? Oh, ok then. As it’s you. Watch this…

Riviera perfection. Now, if your January budget doesn’t quite stretch to a new Chanel suit, there are plenty of other ways to get this look! Let’s start with the hair.

Wash, condition & comb your hair through. When it’s still a little bit damp, run pomade through to the tips. Aveda’s Brilliant Pomade is perfect for this. Comb through & curl into a bun, like this:

(Pearls optional!) Pin with as many bobby pins as it takes. Try & match these to your natural hair colour, Boots do a great selection. Now let’s move on to makeup. Apply your normal foundation, but not too much. Use a few dabs of Touche Eclait under your eyes for that ‘wide awake, I slept for 14 hours last night’ look. Next you’ll need to use a brush to dust shimmery, white eyeshadow all the way up to the brow line.

Chanel’s own Illusion D’Ombre in Fantasme is ideal.

Chanel’s own Illusion D’ombre. If you’re anything like me, you’ll struggle with liquid eyeliner. I have a great cheat for you.

Chanel’s own Maybeline’s Gel Liner glides on like a dream & wont smudge… all. day. long. Perfect for the hand wobblers among us.

Apply this along your top lash line, from the very inside corner to the edge & give it a very gentle flick at the end. Next, sweep on a generous coating of your favourite mascara to your top lashes & skip the bottom ones.

Over tweezed brows are so last year, just pluck any messy little stragglers & use an eyebrow pencil to fill in. Try and get one which matches your natural brow colour. The sculpting pencil from Chanel is fab because it has a little brush at the end, but MAC also have a great range.

For ‘butter wouldn’t melt’ rosy cheeks, we love Orgasm by NARS. It pops up time & time again in our beauty insider’s handbags & who are we to argue with an Orgasmic glow?

To finish the look, use a pale pink lip gloss & delicate nail polish.

Chanel made a whole new colour for the show called ‘Le Vernis in Attraction’, but it wont be in stores until May.
If you can’t wait that long, ‘Isn’t That Precious‘ by OPI should tide you over.

Team with a pretty white dress, pearls & practice your best Chanel-inspired smoldering gaze. Perfect for work or a day at lunch with the girls.
