Dolce & Gabbana A/W12

Sometimes it’s nice to know your personal beauty musings are part of a bigger picture. Case in point? Hair accessories, which have had a special place in our hearts since we spotted Rodarte’s star-spangled clasp a few weeks ago (proving yet again that no-one works the humble hair grip quite like the Mulleavy sisters). At a John Frieda presentation the very next day, red carpet stylist Harry Josh must have been reading our minds when he announced that out of all the big hair trends coming our way the one he’d most like to flag up was accessories – apparently he’s never been so inundated with bows, baubles and barrettes. Since then we’ve also fallen for Oscar de la Renta’s jewelled silk bands, the pastel ties at Moschino Cheap And Chic and even the pin-thin black bands at Carolina Herrera. The message for 2012 is clear, it seems. Want to get ahead? Get a headband.
