Holly’s job as director of a creative recruitment for Karen Harvey Consulting takes her around the world and back again visiting some of the most exciting cities on earth for clients including Burberry and Michael Kors. We’ve already shown you what this jet setter carries in her handbag – or should we say hand luggage – now she’s taking you on a whistle stop tour of some of her favourite places…
When I’m in London…
I eat at the Admiral Codrington in Chelsea. It’s quite hidden away, and looks like an old fashioned pub from the front, but once you venture further back there is an accessible, light dining room where you can eat the best burger in London! It’s also very close to Peter Jones which I love!
I drink in the Sebright Arms in Hackney. It’s a traditional east end venue, and that’s why I love it. The crowd are all rather fashionable and at the moment you can find the pop up burger restaurant ‘Lucky Chip’ in there too…how much more of an excuse do you need to visit?
I shop at The Shop at Bluebird in Chelsea. It stocks some of the more interesting and obscure brands you can’t get in high street stores and the atmosphere is much more intimate and boutique like.
When I’m in New York…
I eat at the Union Square Cafe. You get a good substantial meal in a fashionable environment without feeling uncomfortable.
I drink at Soho House, whilst being slightly predictable this really is a great place to go. The Roof is where everyone tends to aim for, and I don’t blame them. Great views, great atmosphere – I love it.
I shop at Barneys, it’s my go-to store. The minute you walk in you know you’re in New York!
When I’m in Paris…
I eat at the Cafe Charbon, it’s one of my favourite places. A true Parisian bistro with good food and a good crowd. Another favourite is Brasserie Balzar. I like to go for some ‘proper’ food, and the best customer service around, It’s such a friendly place.
I shop at Collete. I love the visual merchandising in-store, it’s totally different from anything you see at home in London. I also like Merci, it’s like Colette’s younger more urban sister and they stock homeware and accessories a little like Dover Street Market.
